Map Room Hosts Singer from Edinburgh Tonight

Head to the Regent Square bar for entertainment Thursday.

The Map Room Grill and Bar will host David Ferrard for a performance tonight at 8:30 p.m.

Ferrard of Edinburgh is an award-winning Scottish-American singer, songwriter, and folk musician.  He brings his newly released album "Journeyman," a collection of original songs, to the states this spring before its release in the UK.

Ferrard’s sweet lyrical delivery will transport you from one side of the Atlantic to the other in an extraordinary journey to the roots of folk music.  "Journeyman," his third album, is a mix of autobiographical songs, love songs, and songs about the world in which we live.

His mother is from the countryside of western Pennsylvania, about 30 miles northeast Pittsburgh. She met his father in Ankara, Turkey, where they were both teaching.  She was in the Peace Corps at the time.

“That must have been the early 1970s, when she met my father, a native of Edinburgh,” he said in a press release.
