Residents of the Forest Hills-Regent Square area can take advantage of two public flu clinics being offered this month.
Forbes Regional Hospital will be hosting a public flu vaccination clinic on Friday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s Learning Centers.
Appointments are available by calling the West Penn Allegheny Physician Access Line at 1-877-284-2000. Appointments are not required; walk-ins are welcome.
Patients covered by Medicare Part B should bring their card to the vaccination session so that Forbes Regional can bill their Medicare carrier directly. Non-Medicare patients should be prepared to pay $25 at the time of vaccination.
Eastern Area PreHospital Services is offering a free flu clinic from 3 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the Edgewood Borough Building, 2 Race St.
The vaccines will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis as there is a limited amount available. Flu shots are free for anyone 18 years and older. Vaccines will not be given to pregnant women.
The program is an initiative of the Mon River Fleet Pennsylvania State Health Improvement Plan partnerships. The clinic is sponsored by UPMC McKeesport, UPMC Health Plan and the McKeesport Hospital Foundation in partnership with Braddock and Eastern Area Prehospital Services.
