Swissvale Library Hosts JulyFest this Weekend

Join the fun!

Top-quality hand-crafted goods and home-baked treats will be part of the second annual JulyFest from 10 am to 4 pm July 21 at the Swissvale Library/Senior Citizen Center at 1800 Monongahela Ave in Swissvale.

Sponsored by Friends of Swissvale Library, the event will feature items by local knitters Pam and Donna as well as those by crafters who specialize in sewing, crocheting, card-making, cat toys and beds, jewelry, candy, and much more.

A large bake sale will feature cookies, cakes, brownies, and other desserts, all reasonably priced.

This popular fundraiser has something for everyone, including $1 hot dogs and the chance to win gift cards to local restaurants. Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund the summer reading program for local children and to purchase books and movies for the library, said Friends’ president Sharon Ramsey. “It’s a fun day and a fun way to support one of the community’s most valuable resources.”

JulyFest is one of a series of fundraisers Friends of Swissvale Library hosts during the year. Others include book and bake sales in spring, fall and during the winter holidays.
