Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Registration Open

Join the race today!

Celebrating 20 years in 2012, online registration for the Pittsburgh Race for the Cure® is open at www.komenpittsburgh.org.

The race will be held on Mother’s Day, May 13, at Schenley Park in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. All proceeds benefit breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment initiatives, including the Mammogram Voucher Program, which provides free mammograms to underinsured and uninsured women and men in central and western Pennsylvania.

6:30-8:15 a.m. On-site registration and t-shirt/bib pick up

7 a.m. Survivor Breakfast

7:15 a.m. Warm up

7:30 a.m. Kids’ Dash

8 a.m. Survivor Parade and Tribute

8:35 a.m. 5K chip-timed run

8:45 a.m. 5K untimed walk/run and one-mile fun walk

Awards ceremony immediately following the Race.  

New this year is Babies for the Cure. Parents who register the tiniest supporters in the fight against breast cancer will receive a specially designed feeding bib. For those who won’t be in town on Race day or for those who prefer to stay in bed in Mother’s Day, Sleep In for the Cure returns. 

Looking for a special gift for Mom? Purchase an indoor or outdoor pink azalea from Komen Pittsburgh, and include a personalized note. Plants will be displayed at the Race for the Cure and can be taken home that day for the perfect Mother’s Day decoration.
