Stock Up on Books—C.C. Mellor Library's Sale Begins Friday

Need some more books to read? Stop by the book sale Friday through Tuesday.

If you're running low on reading material, head over to the C.C. Mellor Memorial Library's annual Book Sale this weekend.

The sale begins today, March 22, and will run through through Tuesday, March 26 in the ballroom of the Edgewood Community House, 1 Pennwood Ave.

Readers of all ages and interests have thousands of items to choose from—books, movies, books on tape and CD, music CDs and tapes, magazines, and children’s games. Everything is at bargain prices and proceeds benefit the library.

The event kicks off Friday with a Preview Party for area residents and their guests from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Hosted by the Drop Dead Book Club, this is a time to browse and buy books in a relaxed atmosphere with food, drink and conversation. The cost per person is $20. No scanners permitted. Call library at 412-731-0909 for reservations.

Weekend hours for the sale are Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Books cost $2 for hardbacks (5 for $8), $1 for paperbacks (5 for $4) and 50 cents for kids’ books (5 for $2).

Monday and Tuesday are Bag Sale Days. Fill a bag for $6 (the library provides the bags). Bag Sale hours are Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.
