Route 30 Long-Term Restrictions at Electric Avenue Begin March 15

If you drive through the Forest Hills area, be aware of these restrictions.

Long-term single lane traffic on Route 30 in the area of the bridges over Electric Avenue (Route 2112) in North Braddock and Chalfant boroughs begins this Thursday.

Single lane closures in each direction will begin at approximately 9 a.m. Crews will be constructing a temporary crossover in the median. Work to construct the crossover will take about three weeks. Once this work is complete, traffic on eastbound Route 30 will be crossed over on the westbound lanes. Traffic will remain a single lane in each direction on the westbound lanes through late November while crews reconstruct the eastbound bridge.

The $12.9 million project includes replacing the bridges over Electric Avenue, bituminous pavement, approach work, drainage, guide rail and concrete barrier, highway lighting, retaining wall and other improvements.
