Husky's Life Saved, But He Will Now Live in Sanctuary for Dangerous Dogs

A decision regarding Helo was made today.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review are reporting that Helo, a husky involved in a fatal accident with a baby, will not be euthanized—but he will be sent to a sanctuary and never have the chance to live with a family again.

and initially took it in after the incident, paying for legal costs, kennel and vet bills.

"The community is safe, the dog will be away from humans," Assistant District Attorney Laura Ditka said after the court appearance in the Post-Gazette report. "It was a compromise."
