Homeless Cat Lost in Regent Square, Park Place Area

The cat escaped from a carrier near the Animal Nature shop on Forbes at South Braddock Avenue.

A cat named "Danielle" escaped from a carrier near the Animal Nature shop at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She was last seen at the corner of South Braddock Avenue and Guthrie Street, headed away from Frick Park and into the residential area.

"She's in a totally different area than what she knows," said Sandy Reech, who had been instrumental in trying to find her a new home after her former family got rid of her because she had fleas.

A domestic, short-hair cat, Danielle is mostly black with tuxedo-like markings on her chest and white paws. She also has a white chin and whiskers. Her belly was shaved today. She is friendly, according to Reech.

Those who helped to rescue her are hoping that people act quickly to check their yards and neighborhoods in an effort to locate the cat.
