Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Possible This Afternoon and Tonight

Local roads could experience flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook today and tonight for southwest Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties.

Showers and thunderstorms in the forecast may be heavy enough to cause localized flooding into this afternoon, the weather service said. 

The weather service issued the alert at 10:10 a.m. Forecasters aren't calling for hazardous weather tomorrow for the time being.

Here is the forecast for Forest Hills-Regent Square: 


  • Wednesday Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. West wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
