Funds Being Raised, Suspect Sought After Animal Nature Break-In

Someone threw a brick through the glass door at the Regent Square pet store, which has been targeted three times.

A fundraising campaign is underway for a Regent Square pet store that was burglarized overnight.

So far more than $265 has been raised for Animal Nature through the Fundly campaign, which has set a $2,000 goal to help the pet store recover from Wednesday's break in.

According to the campaign, someone threw a brick through the glass door and stole the cash register.

To make matters worse, this is not the first time thieves have targeted the store. Store owners say the store was also robbed at gunpoint twice.

"Our local pet store in Regent Square, Animal Nature, is so much more than JUST a store. Rachel, Nina and everyone who works there are like family to their customers and they give back so much to our community," the campaign reads.

Funds will go toward replacing the door and the stolen cash.

The public is also asked to review surveillance videos and call police with any information.
