Frigid temperatures in the Pittsburgh area over the next few days will keep this past week's snowfall on the ground a little longer. There is also a slight chance of snow showers on Thursday afternoon.

Frigid temperatures in the Pittsburgh area over the next few days will keep this past week’s snowfall on the ground a little longer.

Wednesday is looking especially chilly with a high expected to be around 25, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will plummet in the teens overnight with the low expected to reach 12 degrees.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 25. West wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 12. West wind 3 to 6 mph.

Thursday: A slight chance of snow showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
