Don't Throw That Paper Away! Recycle It and Help Local Groups

There are green collection bins scattered throughout the Forest Hills-Regent Square area.

Just in a week's time, all those newspapers, old magazines, junk mail and office paper can really stack up.

In the trash, it fills landfills. But if it is recycled, it can benefit the more than 30 municipal governments, civic groups and schools in the Woodland Hills and Wilkinsburg area that participate in fundraising programs through AbiBow Recyling.

"It's a wonderful, wonderful program," said Stacey Boggs, a customer strategist with AbiBow.

She said organizations generally earn between $100 and $1,000 a month through the fundraising effort. And the environment benefits, too.

Within two weeks of collection, the paper products are recycled into newsprint, Boggs said.
