C.C. Mellor Library's Annual Book Sale Set March 22-26

Volunteers are needed to help with this community event.

C.C. Mellor Memorial Library's annual Book Sale will be held March 22 through 26 in the ballroom of the Edgewood Community House, 1 Pennwood Ave., Edgewood.

Readers of all ages and interests will find lots to choose from among the thousands of items in the sale: books, movies, books on tape and CD, music CDs and tapes, magazines, and children’s games. Everything is at bargain prices and proceeds benefit C.C. Mellor.

The weekend kicks off with a Preview Party for area residents and their guests on Friday, March 22, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Hosted by the Drop Dead Book Club, this is a great time to join your friends and neighbors in browsing and purchasing books in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of good food, drink and conversation. The cost per person is $20. No scanners permitted. Call library for reservations.

Weekend hours for the sale are Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Books are $2 for hardbacks (5 for $8), $1 for paperbacks (5 for $4) and $.50 for kids’ books (5 for $2).

Monday and Tuesday are Bag Sale Days. Fill a bag for $6 (the library provides the bags). Bag Sale hours are Monday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 6, from 9 am to noon. Donations of books and other items will be taken up through the sale. Also needed are milk crates to store books between sales.

Volunteers are needed to help set up and run the sale, and tear down the sale. To volunteer, call Sally Bogie at 412-731-0909.
