Auction Saturday Features Sports Memorabilia, HDTV, Christmas Decorations

Sports autographs, a 37” LCD HDTV, a Kindle Fire and other electronics, Christmas items and more than 40 gift cards and certificates will be on the auction block at  at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The auction preview and a bake sale will begin at 9 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the church’s youth programs, Saturday music program and food pantry.

The church is auctioning a 37” Vizio full-HD (1080p) TV; a Kindle Fire e-reader; an MP3 player; a combination DVD and VCR player, and a Nikon Coolpix 16-megapixel camera with a 14x optical zoom and full-HD movie capability. 

The sports autographs include signatures from Troy Polamalu, Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky on color photos and Lemieux on a hockey stick. Other autographs are by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 1970s “Steel Curtain”—Joe Greene, Dwight White, L.C. Greenwood and Ernie Holmes—on large lithographs by artist Mike Mellett.  A print also is signed by the Steelers’ Mike Wagner, and a photo by Wayne Gretzky.

Pirates' fans will find more than a dozen bobble heads and figurines, including Andrew McCutcheon and Honus Wagner. A large collection of Christmas decorations will be up for bid, including Santa Claus, decorative nutcrackers and handmade Christmas stockings. 

A scarce group of four “Music Masters” commemorative plates produced by Vernon Kilns in the 1950s is being offered. 

The large selection of gift cards represents area restaurants, beauty salons, fitness clubs, retail stores and entertainment and education destinations.
