NPFWPA Moving Day

Moving Day® is a collaborative effort of the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) and the National Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania Chapter (NPFWPA). This exciting, family-friendly event brings the local community together to raise awareness of Parkinson’s disease (PD). It is a day to move, a day to move others, and a day that moves YOU.

This event is not only a fundraising walk but also a celebration of movement. A special Movement Pavilion will be open throughout the event and offer several activities including but not limited to yoga and dance. This fun-filled celebration also features a variety of entertainment such as face painting and appearances from Pittsburgh Riverhounds team members, Mike the Balloon Guy, and KDKA-TV kids reporters.

Committee chairpersons Luanne Radermacher, Eugene Kail, and Rochelle Sufrin invite YOU to join event co-hosts Kristine Sorenson and Marty Griffin from KDKA as well as people living with PD, family, and friends on Saturday, September 28, at Highmark Stadium in Station Square for the third annual Moving Day celebration. There is no registration fee but participants are encouraged to fundraise to become eligible to receive giveaways and win fabulous incentive prizes.

Join us for Moving Day and help to make the 2013 celebration the best one yet! Registration opens at 8:30 AM and the walk kicks off at 10 AM. Event attendees will have the option to walk a gentle 1.5 or 2 mile course along the River Walk and then celebrate their efforts at the Stadium afterwards. Register for this event today at www.movingdaypittsburgh.com.

Proceeds from the annual Moving Day celebration help NPFWPA to provide services, support, and education for the estimated 10,000 people living with PD in western Pennsylvania as well as support medical research to discover the cause and cure for PD.
