Woodland Hills Prepares for Back to School with Community Day

The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 26.

Woodland Hills School District has planned upcoming events to get students excited for the new 2013-14 school year.

A "Welcome Back Night" is planned from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 at the high school.

And for the first time, the district is hosting the Woodland Hills Back-to-School Community Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 on the high school campus.

The Back-to-School Community Day is open to students, parents and the community. Come and meet teachers and principals from all of the schools and catch up with friends and neighbors.

A free lunch will be served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The event  includes games, free books and swimming in the high school pool, and attendees will be able to buy Wolverine gear for the football season.

In case of rain, all tables and activities will be moved inside the high school.
