WQED-TV will air the much-anticipated "Pittsburgh From The Air II," a follow-up to its original 2011 production that took viewers on an aerial sightseeing tour of the region, on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m.

The original "Pittsburgh From The Air" was filmed predominantly during the winter and summer seasons, but "Pittsburgh From The Air II" showcases western Pennsylvania in the autumn and spring.

Highlights of Part II include aerial views of the Pittsburgh Marathon, the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, historic covered bridges, the Youghiogheny River Lake, Friday night football at several local stadiums and much more, according to WQED's website.

An AStar helicopter equipped with the Cineflex V14 (a high-definition gyroscopic camera) captured images of western Pennsylvania as it swooped over mountains, valleys, rivers, gorges, skyscrapers and towns to showcase the natural beauty of the region. Pennsylvania counties featured include Allegheny, Beaver, Westmoreland, Washington, Fayette, Lawrence and Somerset.

Viewers can purchase the original "Pittsburgh From The Air" at ShopWQED.
