UPDATED: Hurricane Sandy Causes Rain Delay of Halloween

Wilkinsburg has canceled trick-or-treating entirely, but other local municipalities in and around our Patch area have postponed Halloween until Saturday because of severe weather conditions.

The big question for Wednesday's holiday—whether trick-or-treating be changed because of the weather—has been answered.

This year, Frankenstorm beat out Frankenstein!

Williams said motorists should be aware of the children out on the streets. In Forest Hills, police, fire and EMS crews will be driving around the borough and available if help is needed.

The chief warns that children should not eat candy until their parents check it.

"This is a time for the children to have fun and we don't want to spoil that," Williams said.
