Regent Square Collision Avoids a Ben & Jerry's 'Late Night Snack'
Potato chip and ice cream trucks meet near busy intersection but keep from mixing.
The only thing missing on Wednesday in Regent Square was a truck carrying caramels and chocolate.
With it, there could have been to potential to unintentionally create a local version of Ben & Jerry's "Late Night Snack" ice cream on the street.
Edgewood police report that a Herr's Potato Chips truck had a side mirror broken by a passing ice cream truck near the intersection of South Braddock and West Hutchinson avenues.
Fortunately, a meltdown and crush were avoided. The damage was so minor that it ended up being a non-reportable accident, according to police.
"Late Night Snack" ice cream was inspired by NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." According to Ben & Jerry's website, "Late Night Snack" is vanilla bean ice cream with a salty caramel swirl and fudge-covered potato chip clusters.
