Man Dies Three Weeks After Fall at ReStore in Edgewood

James Budd, a worker at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Edgewood Towne Centre, was injured on Oct. 23 and died from those injuries on Nov. 17.

 

James Budd, 62, of Pittsburgh, 15243, died Nov. 17 of injuries sustained in a fall while working at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Edgewood Towne Centre.

A spokesperson for the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said the cause of death is accidental, resulting from blunt force trauma to Budd's trunk and pelvis due to the fall. Budd died at his residence on Saturday, the spokesperson said.

According to Edgewood police reports, Budd fell 8-10 feet on Oct. 23 while working at the store, which sells used and surplus building materials. He was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital by Eastern Area PreHospital Services.
