The tofu mango salad was my favorite dish at Green Mango....if you haven't tried Curry Away on Edgewood Avenue, check it out and you can get your Thai fix there come July...

I can't tell you how many times I've been in the mood to have something light and refreshing and turned to the Green Mango. I think it will leave a big gap in the Regent Square food offerings. There are several other fantastic places to eat in Regent Square but none that cover the Thai niche like the Green Mango. I'll have to get there before July so I can savor another chicken mango salad while sitting outside and enjoying the neighborhood bustle. So sad.

NOooooooooooo! :-( It is one of our favorite places!!!
Curried Away is also excellent for Thai, and a neighborhood place. I remember when Mark got his start there.

Please don't go!! This is very sad news. They are definitely one of the best Thai places in all of Pittsburgh.

I am quite curious to know what has prompted this decision. Clearly, Green Mango is a well-loved neighborhood establishment. I am hugely disappointed by this! Curry Away, Bangkok Balcony, Smiling Banana Leaf, Silk Elephant -- all good, but they're not my neighborhood joint and they're not just a short walk away! Boo!

I am really really sad about this. We eat there once a week. They have a bustling business. What prompted this? Couldn't possibly be lack of revenue?

Will miss the Green Mango. It was a place I would treat myself too when I got my hair cut at Clipps.

I am crying in my coconut lemongrass soup, and wiping my tears with summer rolls. I don't want June to end now!

It's sad to hear about the closing. I hope it's replaced by an equally good restaurant.

How will I live without Pad Thai just down the block??? We are so depressed. I remember when I first heard that a Thai restaurant was coming to the Square. I would walk by and look in the window, hoping that today would be the day. We had so many good times there with friends, this is a huge loss. I'm praying someone will step forward and buy it. Please?

This is terrible news! Where is their loyalty?!? We have supported them, made them part of our lives, contributed to their success, and they leave? I will be anxious to hear their explanation. I, for one, will not be trekking to Monroeville. I want my dollars to stay in our neighborhood and environs.

We went into the business Friday to ask employees or a manager about this and all they said was "we don't know when we are closing" and they also told us the owner wouldn't speak to us. When we have a better update, it will be posted.

the good news is Monroeville isn't that far and that another Thai restaurant is taking it's place. The one in Monroeville will have a studio kitchen where Ling will teach.. ALL good stuff..

The shrimp summer rolls are my favorite. Had them for dinner last night. It said right on the cash register receipt that they are closing, and thank customers for their support. I'm sad that they are closing too, and wonder why they are. But there is another nearby Thai place Curry Away, directly across the tracks from The Edgewood Club, on Edgewood Ave. And THEY DELIVER! They also have indoor as well as outdoor seating. We go there often, and like the food there a lot.

Green Mango is definitely one of my favs. I'll have to check out Curry Away, it's actually closer to me. And since I do work in Monroeville, I guess I can check out that location. Unfortunately, I work on the opposite side of Monroeville, and those 2 or 3 miles can be torture at lunch time!

Does anyone know yet why they are closing? And what will be taking its place?

I have heard from other businesses on the block that it's because the rent was raised quite a bit.

Does it still plan to close at a later date? I just ate there and it's still going. Or did I miss something?
